Welcome to the Volume 11 Edition of the McCartney Newsletter.
The first days of summer have arrived. Although you wouldn't know it, because here in Playa del Rey it's more foggy than sunny. Anyway, we wanted to bring you up to speed on what's been happening and I hate to repeat myself, but a lot has happened! The weeks since our last edition literally flew by and now it's time to play catch up. (Editorial note: this volume basically writes itself!)
Here are the most recent McCartney events (in no particular order.)
KISS - Ortsbo
It's 7:00 AM in the morning at the Beverly Hills Hotel and KISS fans from around the world are lining up online to get ready to chat to their favorite stars, Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons from KISS. Ruth decided to wear her Bindaa to the event, which was kindly provided by the ladies from BorrowItBindass.com. More on this amazing new service in the McCartney Business section. The KISS event was packed.
During the live broadcast, questions for Paul and Gene came in from around the globe. Germany, Norway, Argentina, The Philippines, Australia and Japan. And best of all, everyone participating would see Gene's and Paul's answers in their native tongue, meaning: someone in Norway asked the question in Norwegian and Paul and Gene would see it in real time in English, answer in English and our Norwegian fan would see it in his native language. PLUS everyone else logged on saw it in THEIR languages, Korean, Swahili, French etc.
Pretty awesome technology, thanks to Ortsbo.
Here's the MarketWire release on the company:

JP Selects - Mrs. Angie McCartney's Teas
A match made in heaven! And she's his drinking buddy, too!
You've got to give it to her, at the tender age of nearly 82; Angie is embarking on her dream of running her own company. Celebrating tea ceremonies with the rich and not so rich and famous, enjoying a good old chinwag with friends and family, giving worldly advice to the younguns and being the financial rock behind McCartney Multimedia.
Being born in the first great depression, she says that the current US financial crisis is a "doozy" and there's really nothing to be worried about, because: "All You Need is Tea!"
At a recent ceremony in Malibu, the beautiful home of Eloise and John Paul DeJoria, Angie presented here line of gourmet teas to the founder of Paul Mitchell hair care with great success.
As it is custom, the ceremony was held around 5 PM that day and all the participants enjoyed a nice cup of tea, whilst listening to Angie's stories of wisdom and life. Then, John Paul brought out the Gran Patron Platinum. I don't quite seem to remember much after that, but I have a suspicion that John Paul and Angie seemed to be in love with each other!
Thanks to Frank for helping out with the ceremony and Anna Griffin of CoCoEco Magazine, we are proud to say that Angie has made it to the JP Selects website not only as an entrepreneur but also as an eco-friendly product with a very low carbon footprint that can be consumed without hurting the rain forests.

I was delighted and honored to be a part of the launch of JP Selects at the Sunset Marquis Hotel in West Hollywood on March16th, hosted by John Paul and Eloise DeJoria to celebrate the online presence of JPSelects.com, a sustainable, eco friendly website introducing eco-friendly and sustainable fashion-forward clothing, unique jewelry, luxe beauty products, artisan-produced foods, and premier home décor, including Mrs. Angie McCartney's Teas. It was a memorable and fun evening, attended by many celebrities including Dan Ackroyd, Billy Zane, Frances Fisher, Daphne ZuNiga and more, along with many of the entrepreneurs whose goods will be featured on the site in the coming months at www.jpselects.com.
American Idol Finale Season 10
America's Biggest Show embraces "I Was There" 360 technology from Mativision
The red carpet 360 video feeds were streamed live across the globe and fans in Australia, UK, Greece, South Africa and countries far and wide were able to "stand on the red carpet" and get up close with the stars as they arrived. Mativision (Multi Angle Totally Interactive vision) is the ultimate way for engaging fans, viewers, customers, sponsors and advertising partners by delivering THE ultimate interactive “I Was There Experience”.
What it is:
A series of fully integrated MATIvision computers, running patented software to capture, process and output “bubble shaped” image files, filtered into the MATIvision system by special mini-cameras (the size of a Coke can), all remotely controlled and thus delivering an individually customized, interactive, live-immersion and viewing experience whether live or edited, archived and played back later hundreds of thousands, and even millions of revenue-generating times:
Each viewer is the director of his/her own viewing experience
The experience is as close to “being there” as it gets
Viewers are free to focus on the action they wish to follow
Unlimited number of viewers each watching “their own” show simultaneously
Viewers are moving “inside” the images, not moving old-fashioned “web cams”
How it works:
You can see everything: a complete sphere, full 360 degrees all around the way an insect sees a whole bubble around them.
Several cameras are used simultaneously to:
capture an event from many different positions
create multiple navigate-able bubbles
all seamlessly synchronized with each other and audio
Enabled by proprietary multi-camera player software working within any web website, including social networks:
No need to download / install anything to experience MATIvision
Simply visit a web page and click “play”
Delivering 3 x High Definition both Live Streaming, and On Demand:
Video can be played on demand by any website, social network page (e.g. Facebook), or
Copied to a removable medium, or
Delivered for consumption in a mobile device (iPhone/iPad Q3)
What the Viewer Sees and Does:
Can direct own content and customize “how I want it”
Choose what to watch and the position from which to watch it
Navigate in a spherical image with a mouse like inside a bubble
Completely free to focus on the action they want to see
Zoom-in/out as they please, enjoying directions not possible with conventional video
Play Director and choose the “Close Up a la Mr. DeMille”
Can interact with content
Information / e-commerce from hot-spots in the video
Follow embedded codes for sweepstakes/treasure hunts
Delivering the Content Sponsor / Advertiser Dream:
Wider product visibility and promotion in fan tech comfort zone
incremental product placement
Increased traffic, impressions, engagement (session length).

We recently produced a web site and motion video for an e-commerce merchant company called: www.conquestpayments.com. The challenge was to demonstrate how fast and easy merchants can take, void and even refund credit card transactions online.
About Conquest Payments
Conquest Payments’ software is a revolutionary method for web based processing of credit/debit cards for merchants, that have one or more computers to process payments, for one or more businesses in one or multiple location/s.
For example, 4 physicians in one building or 4 physicians in 4 different locations. Or a company with 200 walk in locations where processing can be done in each location, but linking to using 1 central server.
Aside from providing the website and merchant accounts, Conquest Payments also provides card swipers for the lowest rate when the card is presented by the customer, as well as pin pads for more economical debit transactions.
Web site coming soon.

What Will You Do About The Age Of Anti-Social Media?
BY ILANA RABINOWITZ
It’s ironic, isn’t it? In the age of the consumer being in control; at a time when we can easily avoid the interruption of unwanted advertising; we are opting in to be distracted on a monumental scale. We follow scores of blogs in a Google reader. We scan and update our Twitter stream much of the day. We check Facebook, answer IMs, and in between, respond to an assault of emails all by our own choosing.

Clarence Clemons, Springsteen’s Soulful Sideman, Dies at 69
By BEN SISARIO
Clarence Clemons, the saxophonist in Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, whose jovial onstage manner, soul-rooted style and brotherly relationship with Mr. Springsteen made him one of rock’s most beloved sidemen, died on Saturday at a hospital in Palm Beach, Fla. He was 69.
Throughout his career, Mr. Clemons shared the stage with other notables, including former President Clinton.
The cause was complications of a stroke he suffered last Sunday at his home in Singer Island, Fla., a spokeswoman for Mr. Springsteen said.
In a statement released Saturday night, Mr. Springsteen called Mr. Clemons “my great friend, my partner.”
“With Clarence at my side, my band and I were able to tell a story far deeper than those simply contained in our music,” he added. “His life, his memory and his love will live on in that story and in our band.”
From the beginnings of the E Street Band in 1972, Mr. Clemons played a central part in Mr. Springsteen’s music, complementing the group’s electric guitar and driving rhythms in songs like “Born to Run” and “Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out” with muscular, melodic saxophone hooks that echoed doo-wop, soul and early rock ’n’ roll.

Recipe of The Month
Blood Orange and Fennel Salad
The aniseed / licorice flavor of both fennel and blood oranges makes an interesting combination. You can also add pine nuts or cashews for an extra crunch.
2 medium-sized fennel bulbs
1tbsp blood orange juice
2tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
?tsp sea salt
?tsp freshly ground black pepper
2 blood oranges
1 small red onion
Olives (if desired) or black seedless grapes
Pine nuts or toasted cashews
Trim the base and tops of the fennel and throw away.
Place the blood orange juice, olive oil, salt and pepper in a bowl or blender and mix.
Slice across the fennel bulb very finely, almost shaving it, or if you have a mandoline slicer, set it to the thinnest measurement and MIND YOUR FINGERS... then coat the sliced fennel in the dressing.
Trim off the ends of each orange and discard. Using a sharp knife, cut off the peel and pith, then slice the orange finely crosswise.
Slice the onions to the same thickness as the fennel.
Rinse the olives and/or grapes and drain.
Arrange the oranges on a large platter, add the fennel, onions, olives/grapes and pine nuts/cashews.
Also, if you have any green, feathery fennel fronds left, cut them up over the top of the salad for a fresh finish.
Goes great with grilled chicken or fish, or you could even add grilled shrimp to the salad to make it a main course.
Angie's One Liners
Sign outside a Police Station: Stolen - one toilet. The Cops have nothing to go on.
How come you never hear anyone saying: "I just Yahoo'd it?"
We never really grow up. We just learn how to behave in public.
Did you know that dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish?
The shinbone is a device for finding furniture in a dark room.

"It has been a long time coming"
When Martin Nethercutt started out writing the original Geist concept, one thing was pretty clear from the beginning: The project needed a kick-ass guitar player to fill in not only the solo parts but also help out with melodies and chorus lines. When Martin met Marino De Silva in 2005, a deep musical friendship developed, all of sudden there was a Jimmy Page to his Robert Plant. Coming from the same European background, both shared common musical experiences, playing in bands, recording in studios in Germany and in England. The album is now available on iTunes. Click cover and check it out.
