Happy Holidays Everyone!
It's time for our McCartney Multimedia Newsletter again. So much happened this year between travel, production shows and client development, that's why you haven't heard from us for a while.
This year was our 21st year in business, and believe it or not, folks still ask us "what do you do?" Well, for those of you still wondering, we are full service, creative digital agency and we develop and design mobile-compatible websites (small and large scale), create corporate identities and logos, marketing materials, videos and print pieces, manage strategy, content, posting, online advertising and reporting for all social media platforms, create, send, broadcast and track email campaigns, and run our own internal brands and products such as the live touring show The Magical History Tour, Dinner with the McCartneys, Mrs. McCartneys Teas and soon - Mrs. McCartney's WINES!
So, whether you'd like to refer a friend to a safe harbour after a "bad webmaster" experience, or have us take a look at your own business, the kettle's always on at McCartney so give us a ring! Articles have been abbreviated to fit the newsletter design. Full stories are linked wherever possible.

The new PaulaAbdul.com website has unique and important features including a responsive design so it will look great on desktops, tablets, and mobile devices.
Another unique element of this site is the new auto video content which is visible on the homepage and the bio page on desktops and Androids. This new feature is quickly becoming one of the hottest trends in forward thinking web development. It's short video content that autoplays without audio to bring visual motion and life into a web design layout that for the most part has traditionally been made of static imagery. Static imagery is still great to use, but moving images and video content as part of the web design is just so much cooler to look at. Additionally, this website has been developed so that the video content will automatically display the correct video file ie M4V, OFF, MOV, MP4 or any one of the 20 video formats for any of the major desktop browsers most commonly used today.
Here are a few other web site projects we have developed in 2015:
Grey's Anatomy star Jerrika Hinton landed her first professional role at age 11 as Cassie Logan in a theatrical production of Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry.
This starring role would soon launch an impressive and varied career in the arts as an actor, writer, producer and director.
Jerrika wanted a full-screen video site that her fans can "explore", rather than the traditional "menu style" sites of her peers.
Motherhood….the most monumental event in your life.
Phoenix-based Cuddlesleeve has solved an age-old nursing problem with their plush, innovative product.
With baby constantly in your arms, the pressure can cause numbness and fatigue, thus Cuddlesleeve was born.
We developed a WordPress front-end site with a Woo-Commerce and secure payment back office which also handles inventory and shipping notices.
Established in 1988, Paradise Artists is recognized as one of America’s premiere talent agencies. They have a long and impressive record of negotiating and producing concert, packages and theatrical tours, as well as television projects from their Ojai, Beverly Hills and New York offices.
We created a responsive site which also houses video, sound files, technical riders and a myriad of forms to accept digital offers and cut down on paperwork, thus helping the company be more efficient, and go green at the same time.

Foundations and Causes
Dancer Against Cancer
At McCartney, we have not only a sentimental connection to the disease that took the lovely Linda McCartney from us, but also a determination to do whatever we can to bring awareness to, and raise funds for the scourge the world knows as Cancer. In April of 2015, we were very pleased to act as guests of honour for the 9th annual "Dancer Against Cancer" Ball at Vienna's famed Hofburg Palace. Founders Yvonne-Simone Rueff and Matthias Urrisk-Obertynski put together this high-class opening to the official "Ball Season" in Vienna featuring gala dinner, choreography displays (eat your heart out Hollywood), live orchestras, DeeJay club rooms, traditional waltz salons which over 3,000 formally-dressed people attended, dancing away the night until dawn. Kuoni Travel and KLM took great care of us, and we stayed at the elegant, centrally-located Fleming's Hotel in the 8th district, which, to our mind, has the best breakfast in Europe. L to R : Ruth, Angie, Martin, Myriam von M and Carina Flatow with their MyAid Awards
Due to the services provided by The Linda McCartney Centre, people from all over the North West UK travel to the Centre to receive some of the most advanced and innovative treatments available in the UK today. The research hospital at the Royal is also on the cutting edge of finding a cure for breast cancer which will be shared with the world.
From their website: "Our mission is to provide funding for cutting edge cancer research, prevention, and to help those struggling with cancer today.
Our emphasis is on anal and HPV-related cancers. It is our compassion for those who suffer from this insidious disease that fuels our deep commitment and fills our hearts."
Gesichter Einer Krankheit
Singer, studied naturopathic practitioner for psychotherapy, mother and artist.
A severe cancer illness made her use her fame as an alternative model to create a cancer precaution and awareness campaign, as well as a documentary film about her journey. Follow Myriam on Facebook.
Food, Wine and Tea
During one of our themed dinner run-throughs with Chef David Skinner of eculent, we discovered that his award-winning Clear Creek Winery had some fruit wines with ingredients in common to those of some Mrs McCartney's Teas. We decided, almost on the spot, that we should take a stab at creating "Mrs. McCartney's Wines". Since no one in their right mind would take on the big brands in the varietal space, the concept of "High Tea Wines" was born. Instead of traditional Prosecco or Sherry, why not sip a "Maharishi Peach" an "Abbey Road Apple" or a "Blueberry Baroness" with your scones, finger sandwiches and dainties? Now with TTB / Government label approval received, we're scheduled for early release in 2016, and you can watch the "Making of Mrs. McCartney's Wines", here. Bottoms up!
Re-live the 60’s and the stories behind the songs of the Fab Four with Angie & Ruth McCartney, whilst enjoying a gourmet dinner, wine pairings and Liverpool laughter. With old newsreel footage and a curated soundtrack of Beatle's music by other artists playing
in the restaurant, the senses are carried back in time.
We're happy to say that we've raised some much-needed funds for The Linda McCartney Breast Cancer Centre from our tickets to these magical mystery munchies! (read more on McCartney Times)

Live Production Shows
The Magical History Tour performs in Austria (Travel)
Organized by McCartney Group GmbH, together with the original Cavern Club Beatles we played 4 shows in Austria.
Our tour stops were Vienna Austria Halle at Gasometer, (2 shows, see photo above), Ternitz and Obertauern in the Austrian Alps.
The audiences were great at all venues and we had a 3 1/2 hour show at each of those locations.
Our tennis team under the direction of Mag. Raimund Carl and coaching expertise of Austrian tennis star and McCartney Sports Team coach Gilbert Schaller is going from strength to strength. After having won the Madrid and London World Tour finals, McCartney Sports star Florin Mergea is now number 11 in doubles in the World ATP list. Read more about Florin's amazing journey here.
We have also partnered with the Vienna Sport Hotel and their brand new tennis courts so that our team, and students can train indoors at this brand new facility.
August saw Angie being bestowed as Dr. Angela McCartney, Doctor of Business Administration by Dr. Henry Anderson of City University Los Angeles. The ceremony was a joint one with old friend, musician (now Dr.) Brian Cadd who flew in from Australia for the event and to receive his own doctorate.
The event was organized and introduced by Dr. Simon Mills, also of Australia, who now lives in New York, on Planet Mills in NOYO (North of Yoko) with his entire family of Antipodean over-achievers.
Mrs. McCartney's Teas updateThe Teas ~ New Flavours - Matcha, Matcha, Matcha!
The Teas ~ Organic, Fair Trade & Fab!
It's Matcha Time!
Just in time for your New Year's resolutions, Mrs. McCartney's Teas announces 3 new fab Matcha flavours!
Each of our Raspberry, Blueberry and Vanilla Matchas take high quality Japanese matcha and combine it with a natural blueberry flavour.
Matcha is vibrant green in color and possesses many healing properties and health benefits, along with a smooth, savory flavour.
The Japanese Tea Ceremony
Matcha is used in the Japanese tea ceremony. The taste of high grade Matcha is smooth and mellow, and not at all bitter. High grade Matcha is a bright shade of green.
By consuming the entire tea leaf, Matcha contains far more nutrients and antioxidants than all other teas, and studies have shown it lowers cholesterol as well as the risk of liver disease.
Furthermore, Matcha contains a unique amino acid called L-theanine, which helps the body stay energized and the mind stay alert.
How You're Helping
All of the flavours are Organic and Fair Trade Teas ~ you can find them by clicking on the "Store", and each purchase will directly benefit the Linda McCartney Breast Cancer Research Centre in Liverpool, UK as Angie firmly believes that charity begins at home. In her mid-eighties and as feisty as ever, Angie still has major plans to take over the world. Look out Betty White!
Cumberland Sauce is a fruit-based sauce, usually used on non-white meats such as venison, ham, and lamb. Coming out of the long-standing medieval tradition of piquant spicy fruit sauces rendered sharply sour with verjuice or vinegar and served with meat, but created sometime in the 19th century, the sauce appears in various editions of Mrs. Beeton's Book of Household Management.
It was named for the Duke of Cumberland, who had ties to Hanover, Germany, where the sauce was invented, according to Alexis Soyer's recipe in The Gastronomic Regenerator (1846) for a port-wine based sauce accompanying boar’s head, which Janet Clarkson notes "contains what we think of as the required citrus note in the form of Seville orange rind (along with mustard)."
It is a more complex version of a simple redcurrant sauce
Despite its German origin, today the sauce is ubiquitous in the Cumbria region of England and is thought of as a thoroughly British condiment.
Serve as you would a chutney or cranberry sauce, it’s great on a Boxing Day leftovers table.
2 1/2 cups port wine, divided
5-ounces red currant jelly
5 ounces cranberry or rhubarb jam
3 tablespoons light brown sugar
2 tablespoons grated orange rind (reserve some for garnish)
2/3 cup fresh orange juice
1 1/2 tablespoons grated fresh ginger
2 teaspoons dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper flakes for spice
2 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
Bring 2 cups wine and next 9 ingredients to a boil in a large saucepan, stirring constantly; reduce heat, and simmer, stirring often, 20 minutes.
Stir together remaining 1/2 cup wine and cornstarch until smooth. Stir into hot mixture; bring to a boil over medium heat. Boil, stirring constantly, 1 minute. Remove from heat, and cool. Blend until smooth with a stick blender or in a liquidizer. Pour into hot sterilized jars, and seal. Store in refrigerator up to 1 month.
The Nelsons (featuring Alyssa Bonagura) - "This Christmas"
From Gunnar Nelson: "It's an original song that Matthew and I wrote with Alyssa and her father Michael Bonagura (of the country band Bailley and the Boys). It also happens to be the only original holiday song in the US top 40. :)" You can watch the video here...
